Alla Tiders Hus; design 5470 – Retro

During the peak of modernism artists were rejected as immoral. The patterns seen on this wallpaper, with its strict lines and slick surfaces, were constantly at risk of being prohibited. Eventually all the backbiters had to step back and now, as we gaze back on the 20th century, we acknowledge modernism as the art form that dominated the entire century. It goes the whole hog with absurd measures and has influenced functionalist architecture from spiral staircases to apartment buildings. This wallpaper is a trip back to the 1950s with a clean and stripped surface that is a trademark of functional form.
